Annie Leibovitz- Life Through A Lens November 2, 2011

I find photography to be amazing and after watching this film that shows the life of a photographer and the way she sees photography was really interesting for me. Many people might go off to say that what she does is amazing because has worked and photographed many legendary artists. However, there is more than just taking a picture of that famous person. Annie Leibovitz actually takes the time to get to know the people who she will get to work with at a deeper level. She is not like other photographers who just take a picture and tell the artists what to do. Instead, she allows them to be themselves and that is what makes her photographs so unique. Annie lives her life through a lens because that is what she loves to do. As she mentioned in the film, she doesn’t have two lives because photography is her life. It was interesting for me to see how since her childhood influenced a lot in her current career that she never imagined having. The work that she has done for well known magazines is just beautiful. I think that what makes her work so amazing and beautiful is her personality. Annie seems to be very simple and that’s what makes her photography so authentic.
